Ms Lydie

Ms Lydie Schrepfer ARAD's first training comes from France, her country of origin. After graduating from the ‘‘Concours d’Île-de-France’’ and completing her Royal Academy of Dance training, she was awarded a scholarship from the London studio Centre where she trained with the well-known names of the theatre business.

Back in France she founded and directed her own semi-professional dance company. But she had caught the London bug and was soon back here where she felt she truly belongs.

Her 30 years of experience as a RAD registered ballet teacher for all ages and levels took her to the stage again but as a choreographer and director for ballet schools in Southwest London, for which she produced original full-length ballets.

She later founded her own school MyBallet Academy, and charity MyBallet Community to share ballet more widely across the East End.

From the stage, her creativity spread into the classroom, and over the years she has developed an innovative method to teach little ones. She wrote "Teaching Pre-School Ballet" to explain her philosophy for teaching that age group.

Ms Lydie knows the important impact a teacher can have on a child and how important the role of a dance teachers can be. She appreciates the profound impact her own teachers had on her journey. From Paris to London, Sylvia Padovan, Solange Golovine, Jacqueline Fynnaert, Anita Young MBE, Sue Booker, and Ikky Mass stand as her most cherished and inspirational mentors.

Her philosophy centres on the belief that learning is a lifelong pursuit. In her quest for excellence, she has delved into the world of PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), attained Silver Swan Licensing, and is now eager to share her wealth of experience teaching children of all ages with fellow dance teachers and dance enthusiasts.
